How did I ever get so lucky? First, I got to capture this sweet little guy for his Fresh 48 session and then I had the pleasure of hanging out with little Ezekiel all over again at the ripe old age of 8 days old! I'm seriously so blessed! Generally speaking, newborn sessions tend to go one of a few ways:
- Parents just want to kick back and watch me do my thing (or ahem, take a nap...they are sleep deprived after all!), during the session wanting nothing to do with actually being in the images themselves,
- Parents want portraits of their other children with their new baby, or
- Parents are all-in and want the whole family involved in the session.
Ezekiel's newborn session was totally number 3 and I was more than happy to make it happen.
It was so great to reconnect with the Willmore Family, whom I just so happened to fall in love with at our last session. And don't even get me started on Big Sister, Violet. I have never seen a 2 year old rock a session the way this girl did. She is probably more mature than me already! Back to our session: After we captured these beautiful images of their family, it was time for Violet's close-up! And....maaannn did she kill it!
After we captured this cuteness it was time for Violet (and Daddy) to say goodbye so that Ezekiel's solo session could officially begin. After lots of baby wrapping, patience, nursing breaks and a few little "accidents" (par for the course, trust me!) our session came to a beautiful and bittersweet end. When I say I love my clients, I truly do. I mean that! Why? Because what's not to love about an innocent new life? What's not to love about doting parents? What's not to love about the people who trusted you enough to let you hold, snuggle and love on their most prized possession; their new baby! So I mean what I say: I love my clients, I pray for their children (without them even knowing) during their sessions and I'm forever grateful for every family who graces the other end of my lens... and I'm starting to feel like maybe, just maybe, I've got a special place in their hearts too.
